Looking for some help. My unit deployed to Afghanistan. We were strapped for how much we could ship over. So we were unable to bring a bow system. Looking at our Morale outlets here, we could sure use one to break the routine up. Being based out of Alaska, we have a lot of avid hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. I have written quite a few companies and a couple of the leading hunting shows and not received much support. Hoping someone here might know someone who can help me link into an organization that can assist us with a sponsorship. Upon return to Alaska, the equipment will be donated to our local B.O.W. program, introducing women to hunting. I greatly appreciate any time anyone can lend to helping us.

Good luck in your search. Nobody needs it more than you all do, that's for sure.

Mathews has a purchase program specifically for deployed overseas soldiers. The bows aren't free but they're very cheap. They will also take care of the shipping. I'll PM you the details.

    Thank You

    All,

Thank you for the help to date. We have gotten a few emails regarding assistance. It is reassuring to have some support from the homefront.

Indy, Thank you for the info. I am from Crawfordsville originally. 20 Years in the military I have many homes now, but always make it back for archery season. Had a bad year this year. Weather was way to hot the two weeks I was home before shipping out. I did see two 8 pointers, but never got a shot off.

Drill, I have some guys who would definitely be interested. Just have to talk to them about timing. We will probably miss this years early seasons. I would be game as well. Nothing like an extra hunt on the calendar.

Thank you again to everone who has responded. We are talking to Mathews and Michael Waddell on what our options are. Best of luck on late season hunts.

    Brian
