I've tried the mitten gloves, hand warmers in the pockets. Neither seamed to work for me, but I got the muff this year. All I can say last night in 20 something degree weather my hands was the warmest thing. I love it and glad I got one.

I agree with everyone that said muff. I never wear gloves while bow hunting except walking in and out.

I have not tried the hand muff but that sounds great with the handwarmers. I wear two different gloves during the cold. On my right (trigger) hand I wear a thin Scent Blocker glove and keep my hand in my jacket pocket with a handwarmer.

On my left I wear a much thicker Scent Blocker glove.

My thought is that I will not have time to take off a glove to make a shot so I wear the thin one that I can still feel my trigger on my release (Scott Little Goose). I will even practice with that glove on. The other nice part about this glove is that I can still work my phone (Windows Phone Nokia 925) with my glove on!

Muffs or hand warmers. But also remember keeping your core temp up is really the key to having warm extremities. Doesn't matter what you use if your core tem starts dropping blood is getting pulled from your fingers/hands & toes/feet. My wife sewed some pockets on a snug fitting under armour shirt. She sewed them over my heart area, right side liver area, and on both sides of my lower back near kidneys. On really cold days put hand warmers in the pockets and almost never get cold anymore.

I hunt VA so we don't get bitter cold but down in the 20's/30's with a stiff North'ish wind all the time(Eastern Shore) can get pretty uncomfortable.
