Anyone have any recommendations on a good all purpose hunting pant for archery, softshell preferably to keep noise down. Seen an add for Koss Outdoors and purchased them and they are made for little Chinese boys, even if they fit they are way too noisy.

Honestly, something fleece or merino is going to be quieter. I have the first lite obsidian merino as well as the guide pant (merino and soft shell respectively) and the merino is quieter. The soft-shell does have a dwr finish so if a little bit of water resistance is something you need, thats a plus for soft shell as well as them being more durable. I used to use the sitka stratus pants (fleece) and those were about as quiet as they come. Could also go with something like the prana zion, which is a solid soft shell pant, they just don't support hunting but make a great pant.

Merino also doesn't carry any scent!

First Lite is also 20-30% off site wide, just a heads up!

I have some old U.S Army wool pants and they are quite and warm even when wet. They were od green but I died them with some walnut hulls so they are kind of blotchy now. Wool is the best for quite.

I bought the first lite obsidian merino pants in the summer and returned them immediately. they didn't give me the piece of mind I needed, for being $220 they felt so cheap in the hand and not heavy at all.

I wore them on a week long back packing trip in Colorado in some nasty country and they worked well. They are defiantly an early season pant and meant to be layered.. I did get one rip on my ankle from some blowdown where the stitches got caught when I slipped off a log but I don't think it was the pants fault. I have 3 pairs and I'm happy with them. Next back country hunt I will take the guides for the water resistance because the dew in the morning sucks. Just my 2 cents

I'll be wearing them plus some merino base layers until late season then the sanctuary bibs and jacket will come out

I use the first lite kanab 2.0 they are merino. I got them on amazing for like $135. I love them they are super quiet. When it gets a little cold I just layer up under them.

Rocky!! Love mine cool enough for early season in NC and warm enough with thermals in the winter.

I have these pants and the shirt that goes with them. This is my 6th season with them. I found them at ****'s Sporting Goods and got the set on clearance for like $75. I LOVE them. They're great for early season hunts. They are getting quite worn, however. I'm looking into the First Lite stuff. I'm not in the market yet but I will be next season, most likely.

Can you post a pic of this? I'm interested in what they look like and how you did it.
