Or anyone for that matter. I have a 2012 F-150 and the blower motor for the A/C & heat runs for about 2 seconds and the shuts off. About 2 minutes later it blows for 2 seconds and then shuts off again. It just keeps doing this and started today, right when the week's weather forecast is for triple digits all week. I checked the fuse and it's fine, pulled it, turned on the A/C which ironically still worked as it did before, put it back in and still does the same thing. Black leather SUCKS when the A/C don't work. The air conditioned seats work just fine. Blower motor taking a dump??? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I can't say much about fords, haven't had one for while. But the dodge I had was doin that and it was some wire in the ignition. Which didn't make sense but whatever it was took it in and they changed something and it fixed it after we tried everything else. That's about only experience I've had with any blower on a vehicle. Switch on your dash may be goin bad too. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Thanks. Some of the controls are buttons like normal and some are touch screen through the Microcrap Sync stuff. (Not a Microsoft fan) Anyhow, ya it's weird how some stuff affects other stuff in a vehicle that doesn't make sense. I just hope it isn't gonna cost a $1000 to fix. Thanks for the reply!
Have to go to a dealer and have them "plug it in" to their computer to find the short or bad fuse or switch or whatever is causing it to malfunction.
I have a feeling that's coming. Problem is I'm working the next 4 days straight. 2 swing shift and 2 grave shifts, 12 hours a piece. Guess I'll get there eventually. Thanks!
Thanks Covey!!!! Yes my windows do work however when it gets to 101 on the temp outside, you can't drive fast enough to make it cool! That was funny though. I lived with no A/C in my Dodge for about 3 years. I've been spoiled now, or at least was.
Here's the funniest thing of all. I joined a F-150 forum and posted the same message about 3 hours ago. Not one response at all! Guess I know who my friends are and where my loyalties lie!
Without knowing specifics on your vehicle I would look for 1. a loose connection to the blower motor like a plug not secure or wires pulled out of the socket 2. blower motor itself burning out 3. bad blower resistor switch It's an easy system to test as far as components go...if it's in the wiring that could be a different story...rare occurrence though Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
I would defintely follow these steps. I had the same issue with my freightliner work truck. the blower would run then shut off or sometimes not come on at all. There was a loose connection on the blower switch which got hot and melted the switch. Good luck hope it works out for ya
I'll probably have t wait until next week. My next 4 days of work schedule is F'd to say the least. 7pm - 7am tonight. 3pm - 11pm Thursday, 11:30am - 11:30pm Friday and then back to 7pm - 7am Saturday night. I hate having to cover other supervisors.
Apparently the hamster only likes to work every other Thursday morning between 6:30am and 7:00am. If there's a full moon. There was a little chill this morning leaving work at 6:45 so I turned up the temp a little. I noticed a decent stream of warm air blowing at my feet. I turned up the temp a little more and it blew a little harder. Turned the temp all the way down and the cold air blew constant like normal. Turned the temp back up a bit and it started doing the blow and stop thing again. Readjusted to full heat and cold and it blew constant again. This is the stuff that drives me nuts with the advancement of vehicles and computers. Tell me why we need cars that park themselves? Aren't you supposed to learn how to drive and park to get your license? Or maybe it's to have an excuse when you hit a car trying to park. The computer screwed up. Ok, done with the rant.
"Apparently the hamster only likes to work every other Thursday morning between 6:30am and 7:00am." There's your problem. Must be unionized.
