I did some work for a guy and he bought me 2 colvert 3.0 cams for a reward well... anyway this cam has a remote you plug in to set up the cam the problem is after i set it up and turn the cam off and detach the remote the cams no longer work but work fine when plugged in, what am i doing wrong.
I don't have a 3.0 But my Reveals have a remote When the camera is off I plug in the remote then turn the camera on. I then set it up and turn it back off I unplug the remote and turn it back on and it's ready to rock. Hope this helps
yep just how the manual says and just how i am doing it both cams will not work without the remote hooked up. hmm.
On my scoutguard which is basically the same as your covert after you do your programming and turn the camera off then unplug the remote then turn the cam back on there is a red light on the front that flashes which indicates that the cam is arming itself and when it stops flashing the cam will start taking pics. Maybe the SD card isnt formatted correctly? Hope this helps.
yes this is just what i am doing. i turn the cam off and dissconnect cable and turn the cam back on then the light flashes for ten sec then nothing,no lights no trigger nothing. both cams same thing.
Are you waiting long enough for the camera to reset before you try to trigger it after you first turn it on? I used to have some cams that you had to wait the amount of time you had the delay set for before trying to trigger it. In other words, if you had the delay set for 2min between triggers, then you had to wait for two minutes after you turned it on to trigger it. Hope this helps. Blessings......Pastorjim
It has a 1 min delay, but i think i have a bad on/off switch i wiggled it to turn it off and it came to life. One cam i left in the woods today and i brought this one home to check out why it did not work. The switch is very small and hard to get to, so far in the last ten min i have done some walk by test and in high trigger mode you have to be within 30 feet for the cam to pic up on me but even in the dark here it over 90 degrees ,maybe a good mineral or scrape cam. so far fast trigger speed which the cam is known for. well thanks for the reply's.
