when i draw my helim the bottom limb creaks, i believe its in the limb turret , anyone else experience this ? if so whats the home remedy ? my dealer is an hour drive away ! its pretty loud, i can only imagine how it would sound in the deer woods.........
Back the lower limb bolt out 1/2 turn and see if it stops. I always go tight then 1/4 turn out. If the creak is still there try the top one. Sometimes a tiny bit of grit/sand etc gets in there and make noise if it's tight. Also could try to back limb bolts out 5 turns, use compressed air to spray clean then tighten all the way and back off 1/2 turn.
A guy on another forum just had the same issue. After trying everything, it was the bottom cam bearing assembly, sent a new cam with bearing and fixed the problem.
o.k. ended up taking 2 turns from bottom and top limb, and the creak has vanished, but i want my couple of pounds back i lost.........ill shoot it like this for a day or so and put a turn back in and see what happens....... thanks for the help guys !
I put 1 drop of synthetic oil into the pocket once a year. I am shooting a Bowtech, but if there is any movement in the pocket there is the chance of creaking or noise.
Sometimes new bows just need to work out some noise. If you crank it back up after 50 shots or so and it still makes a creeking, you have something wrong. If the limb bolts are bottomed out (max poundage) and it creeks, unfortunately you will be making a trip to the dealer because the limb pocket needs to be taken apart, cleaned, and greased. If your limbs are not bottomed out, you should tighten them completely and then work your way back to your poundage, paying careful attention to evenly back out the top and bottom bolt. Sometimes if the two bolts are a half or quarter turn off from one another that may cause some noise.
