I’m going to go take a look at (and hopefully shoot) a Bear Lights Out that this guy has on Craigs List. He’s claiming that it’s a 2011 but most reviews I see on the web are from 2008-2010. When did Bear discontinue the Lights Out? Is there a way I can tell what year it is by looking at it? What do you guys think of the Lights Out? He’s asking $250 for it. His ad claims it’s fully set up. Thoughts??? Thanks for helping out a newb.

One more thing. He claims it’s 55-70# draw. All I see on line is 50-60 and 60-70. Did Bear ever make a 55-70# Lights out? Something is starting to smell fishy.

Sounds like he doesn't know what he's selling.

I have a Bear Done Deal that is I believe the model above the Lights Out and that is 60-70 lb limbs, so I would assume that the Lights Out was setup the same. I also believe what you read about it only being from 2008-2010 is correct, because when the Bear Attack came out the rest of the bow lineup changed as well. It sounds to me that seller doesn't know exactly what he has, but I wouldn't say it necessarily means it would not be a good bow, rather just not what he thinks it is. I have a buddy from work who has had this bow for a few years and really likes it as well.

It might be that he bought old stock in 2011 and attributed it to a 2011. Not sure about the draw weight specs though, take a poundage tester with you if youve got one, either way, might turn out to be a good bow, all the best

That's kinda what I was thinking. He probably bought it in 2011 but it's really a 2008 or 09. He texted me last night and said the sticker on the limb says 70# so it's probably a 60-70#. If he still has it on Monday I might go take a look. He said I can shoot it so as long as I like the feel of it... who cares what year it is. It's not like I'm buying it for its resale value anyway.
    Thanks for the replies.
