I recently got a great deal on The MFX Bone Collector Beman arrows.

I had the guy in the shop cut them to 28" and install the HIT inserts.

They have been sitting for a couple of days and last night I wanted to shoot them. I did buy the correct field points so that is not the problem...but I can not get the field points to go completely into the inserts....I suspect there is glue inside the inserts because the guy in the shop did said it was his first time doing it.....

    any ideas ?

    Thanks,

    SB

Get an 8-32 tap and clean it out. I've had the same problem but not to that extent. If that doesn't work, take them back since it wasn't your fault installing them.

Those inserts need to come out, and be re-done. When a HIT insert is installed the arrow needs to stay HORIZONTAL for several hours. While the epoxy is setting it is still somewhat workable. Any turning of the arrow vertically will cause the inserts to slide. I would lay money on this being your issue.

Happened to me once at Cabelas, but I was able to screw the points in all the way with plyers.

I bought some Easton epic shafts with HIT inserts last year from cabelas and after gluing them in at the store the guy helping me out told me to be sure and keep them vertical for at least 24 hours while the epoxy hardens and this would ensure the insert set up right in the shaft. I followed his instructions and had no issues with mine.
