Fairly new to hunting, last year was my first year but I am obsessed. I live on a farm in Western NY so I am fortunate enough to have a lot of land to hunt. I am looking forward to learning QDM techniques for the off-season and during hunting season. I want to learn about improving habitat and doe management. I am in college, so I sadly do not get to hunt as much as I would like to. Also, my hunting zone implemented a new rule this year that we cannot shoot bucks until Oct, 15.
Welcome to the forums from a fellow New Yorker!!! I too can't shoot bucks until the 15th in my main hunting zone, but am ok in others...unfortunately I am not able to get to those other zones or out of state until after the 15th anyway. Go figure, I had a couple young bucks come in after I killed my doe last Saturday with this new rule! Not shooters, but still thought it was funny! Good luck to you this season!!!
Welcome... how far west are you? I hunt Cayuga county every year. I will be out there nov 3-8 this year.
