Hey MD bowhunters, My wife is from MD and I've heard you have a unique deer species there, maybe its called a sitka...idk if thats right?
thats awsome I would go for one if I lived there, from what I herd about them they smell bad cause they like swamps or mud or something but they tast better than whitetail. thats just what ive heard.
The Sika's were imported from Asia and as mentioned by Finny they are found in the swamps on the Eastern Shore. I've never hunted them but my brother hunts them and has killed a few nice bucks. By nice bucks I mean 4 to 6 points. They are a much smaller deer then a whitetail, but fun to hunt from what I hear. I might have to join him one of these days.
