Hi all, It seems some of you are from the northern illinois/southern wisconsin area (lake county/kenosha county). I'm the den leader for a cub scout den here and the kids want to shoot some bows & arrows. I found an archery range but they don't rent any equipment, does anyone know of a place to rent some really simple beginner equipment for kids? There may not be one that rents, but maybe there's a used sporting goods store that might have something cheap. Let me know if anyone has any ideas. Thanks! Great site!
Hey there and welcome to the site! I'd call Tim Zimmerman at TAZ Archery in Woodstock. It's a little bit of a hike for you but it's by far the nicest facility in the area.
Have you tried contacting Kenosha Bowmen. I believe they have done youth shoots in the past and think they might have bows. I am not sure if they can help but you might want to try to contact the Salem elementary schools. I know they have NASP in some of the schools. They might be able to point you in the right direction. Trevor does have NASP and i use to be instructor there. Kenosha bowmen does have mathews genesis bows and you can contact them and i'm all most 100% positive they can setup something for your den. Now that I helped you I should have a nice spot in Lake County this coming fall. hehehe lol
Welcome to the site! Unfortunately I will be of little help, but hopefully some of the posts before mine will lead you in the right direction.
Well you haven't been back to the site in a few days since posting the question but I really hope you look at those two options I suggested. I am pretty sure that you will be able to get something done for your Den from one of them. Please keep us posted. Depending on when you do it I might be able to attend and help. Can probably get a few other locals to help also!
