Hey guys, Long time hunter just checking out this site for the first time...Cabin Chat has basically fallen of the map. I lived in Durango, CO for the last 17 years, have bow-hunted Archery Elk for the last 6. Just moved to Pagosa Springs, CO about 50 miles east of Durango. Really excited to be in GMU 78. Scouted for the first time this year and ran into 5 cow elk about 1.5 miles from the trailhead...hope that translates to a bull this fall although I would take a healthy cow to fill the freezer! Anyway...Howdy!
Welcome to the site Trapper! I'm headed to CO fall of 2013 for my first Archery Elk hunt. I'll be headed somewhere West of Alamosa. I lived in The Valley for a summer.
Thanks, Fitz Scouted this unit for the first time yesterday... Drove 34 miles, hiked 1.5 miles and ran into 5 cow elk, water, wallow, dense cool aspens...perfect. Guess I already said this...Derp!
