Hi there. My name is Aaron. 43 years old living in Northwest Ohio. Montpelier to be exact. Obviously I'm new to this site, this being my first post. I am also a first year bowhunter. I used to bowhunt over 24 years ago but gave it up due to time constraints and other interests. (mainly other forms of hunting. Rabbit and pheasants with dogs) I have been an avid spaniel owner and hunter since 1988.
This year I finally got back to bowhunting. About 5 years ago I purchased a Compound and slowly collected the needed components to hunt with. (It took 5 years because I was told that compounds need to season):D
A couple weeks ago I put it all together and off I went. BOY,,, what a pathetic excuse for a bowhunter I've been thus far. I've been out about 6 times so far and although I am seeing deer I am making every mistake I can think of.I've flubbed 2 shots. (just wanted to scare em anyways) I've spooked 2, and last but not least I was on the losing end of ,who sees who first, with a very handsome 10 point. <arggg>
I am shooting a Mountaineer compound with 5575 carbons through a wisker biscuit. I'm not all the way where I want to be as far as dialing in my gear but close. My stand location is good but needs opened up a touch, and I just need to TWEAK my entire program to put it all together
Anyways I just wanted to introduce myself and I look forward to gleaning all the helpful hints I can from you folks.
This is me showing a friend of mines son how to clean rabbits after a good day hunting.
