How is everyone doing. I am new to bowhunting in general. I am on the market for a bow, one great price and quality. I do not wish to break the bank with my first bow, especially since i will be learning with it. But, also looking for one that I can take into the field here in Florida as soon as the season starts. I am very excited to take my hunting to a new level with using a bow instead of a rifle or shotgun. If any of you vetrans or experienced hunters have advice for this new bow hunter, on bows, arrows, or other equipment and advice with bowhunting I am all ears to take in your wisdom and try to apply it. Thanks y'all.
Sounds like you got the right attitude about it welcome and good luck. Go to your local pro shop and they should be able to help you make a choice and help to work around your price range. Other than that its all trial and error but the guys here all have experience and can definitely guide you in the right direction Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
First of all, Welcome the site! First thing I would do is Determine which eye is your dominant eye. Then, find a local Archery Shop and shoot a few bows. Let them know that you are a beginner and you are looking for a bow. Choose the one that best fits YOU!! They will determine your draw length and anchor point. Next when you have chosen a bow, I would use a drop away rest from the start. They have increased my accuracy greatly. A smaller diameter arrow like Easton will be a good choice. Get a good release that feels comfortable to you. Try many different ones. Get a good target like a Block or Rhinehart and practice, practice, practice. Once you are able to group shots from the ground, climb a tree or platform and practice shooting from an elevated position. Your shot angles change greatly once you are elevated. I hope this helps!!
