Go to a store and find a pattern you think blends into your area, then find that pattern on clothes you think will be comfortable and quiet. You have adequately researched this to the point that the Internet cannot help you anymore, time to physically check out the camo yourself.

Google is a wonderful thing. That's what I did, and still do.

I wear realtree apg/hd when im not wearing my ASAT leafy suit. I really love the ASAT camo pattern as it is made for the deers eyes not the humans. Its just pretty pricey.

My opinion on camo pattern choice is the following:

-Wear one which raises your confidence & think of style of hunting when choosing.

Confidence: Each hunter has their preference, and up until a few years ago I used the same camo for every hunting situation. Now I have some camo patterns/outfits which are geared more towards stand style hunting in early season, stand late season, snow and ground hunting. If just getting set I will always advocate towards a good all purpose camo. Really most can be used during all seasons without standing out like a sore thumb save trying to pull it off on the ground in snow. My personal collection is currently the following:

-Naturalgear camo for ground hunting when no snow on the ground (this is was my camo of choice for years and I still feel on the ground it is amazingly effective)

-Naturalgear snow camo...obviously for when snow is on the ground and I'm hunting on the ground.

-Vertigo Tan...this is basically just a top and bottom that are very thin under armour style by scentlok and used only for early hot days where minimal clothing is needed to stay cool. This is a pattern more for stand hunting but could easily be worn effectively on the ground as well...but with it's negative/silhouette fighting pattern is awesome for stand hunting.

-Vertigo Grey...my go to camo anymore when I hit the tree stand...if really heavy leaf cover in tree I may be going to my next one I describe. This camo though is awesome for fighting silhouette and I love it! It also could be used for snow camo in a pinch due to it's color scheme but wouldn't be as good as dedicated snow camo.

-Mossy Oak Break Up Infinity-Adding this one for an all purpose camo set up for early season stand hunting or ground hunting as well if needed. I don't have any cold gear for this but I have that covered by as typically if cold Vertigo Grey is best.

Face covering is something I encourage, whether painting or with a mask. I love to paint but my skin gets ticked off and breaks out some years so now I am going to only face masks/gaiters and such.

The biggest key though after getting the camo is do all you can to minimize scent absorption by it. I'm a Scentlok believer, but Scentblocker and UA offer good scent control lines...now some argue if effective but I want to do all I can. Wash your clothes in unscented no dye/non-UV brightening detergent (during hunting season my house is only allowed to use Arm and Hammer unscented detergent), dryer then directly in to trash bags inside of totes. *Oh I also UV-treat my clothes each year just ones using Atsko's recommendation if I remember.

If you want to go full tilt...I also have specific transportation clothes and hunting towels treated the same way minus the UV killer thing. I keep this in a tote separate and accessible in the morning for pre-hunt prep...this obviously only becomes a need if you have to drive to your spot.

Keep your boots in a tote as well if stored inside and could pick up scents...activated carbon powder sprinkled on them and in them will make a major mess but will minimize or elimate that "rubber" smell.

Just some things I thought of off your questions.

I made the switch to Predator last year. After the better part of a year, I am pleased with the switch.

    46rail for spot and stalk?

    Hey everyone,
I thought I had a pretty good grasp on camo. Then I moved from down south to out west and have to change all my camo. What do you think of 46rail's designs and max-1 pattern? They say they designed their clothing for spot and stalk. any opinions ?

I love my scent blocker in realtree its very comfortable and light weight however on long cold sits it isn't the warmest. I just picked up some UA fleece lined pants for late season that were marked half off. I suggest looking around I don't think I have paid full price for any of my camo for deer hunting or waterfowl hunting.

    ^^^Well Put!

I have to say I LOVE my Lost Camo, but when I'm not wearing that Im usually wearing Realtree Camo Patterns. Pick your pattern to where your hunting, from there its all preference and what your looking to spend within your budget. Good Luck!
