New here but not new to the stick and string, I’m looking for advice on possibly a new bow this year or next. I currently still shoot an Obsession Knightmare GT and have no plans of getting rid of it. However it is a 2015 model and my plan is to keep it as a back up/ 3d bow. I would really like to stay with Obsession however being in Colorado and having no dealers anywhere close is a problem. I shoot 70lbs @ 28.5” DL. Also I shoot pretty heavy arrows “436 gr” and use expandable broadheads. Only thing I hunt primarily is western game” only options I have that are reasonably close” so something that isn’t to heavy but also rock solid are a must. Thanks in advance for any input.

I’d call 436 grains average for a hunting arrow personally. Your draw length is the same as mine I shoot about 510 grains. As someone who traded in a bow about as old as yours for a new one this summer I’d tell you that you don’t have to at all. I got the New Mathews lift because I really like the look and specs and also the flexibility of being able to go up to 80 lbs someday if I want too. I also just can’t help myself sometimes lol hopefully this is the last bow I have to buy for a long time I’m really liking it so far I wanted to get away from the shorter axle to axle I had and I feel like im shooting better and the bow fits me better.

Thanks for your input. I also shoot a short ata bow currently, do you really notice more forgiveness with a longer ata?
