Hey guys, Ordering new arrows for a Chill'R and wondering what everyone's take is on helical vs straight 2" blazer vanes shooting through the WB's? I've always thought straight would make more sense going through a WB but the vanes are so short do they they even get effected it?

Get rid of the WB. Then you can shoot whatever fletching you want. IMHO

I don't think at that point it's going to matter. Try both and see which one shoots the best or if there's any difference. I don't use a WB anymore but am one that don't really see a problem with them. They are simple and get the job done.

Blazers are so short - IMO - you can't really get what I would consider a true helical on them.... If I'm flecthing arrows for a WB, I set them about as much offset as possible and still keep both ends of the vane solidly affixed to the arrow...

If you want to put meaningful helical on blazers the only jig I seen work well is a AAE mini plasti fletch, it put a sick helical on them. Found it to be very good with fixed blade heads.

I use Blazer vanes, AZ mini EZ fletch (lots of helical regardless of what was said about Blazers and helical) and tried a WB and it was very hard on the fletching. I would us straight or offset with the WB.

Yes a helical will wear quicker however the trade off for fixed blade broadhead head flight is worth it in my mind. If I was shooting a mechanical I would put a couple degrees off set and fletch it straight

If you are shooting a WB I would go with straight. That will give less friction. Less fletching wear.

Agree, but if you dump the biscuit and install a QAD rest then run helical vanes you will be "In the Front Row brother"!

simple physics...helical through a WB will drag more. Although it might start the arrow to spinning harder and faster, so there is that.

Definitely end up losing a bit of speed, but might make for more stable flight.

I don't think it will matter much in fps with your bow. That thing is a Monster and even with the new addition (Chill) your speed will be great and the WB drag should be minimal. Still think you should go helical with a QAD. ... FREEDOM!!!...SsssWACK!

I fletch my own and shoot helical in my WB, no issues at all. The reality is they are so short...its barely noticable that they arc around the shaft.

Use an Arizona EZ-Fletch mini. LOTS of helical.
