My deer this year was so heavy to drag that my dad and I both swore he weighed 225+ dressed. Actual weight, 186.(our age and an uphill drag probably had something to do with it!) My dad shot one years ago that weighed 233 dressed. Now that thing was REALLY hard to drag. Estimated deer weight means nothing, I've seen guys talk about their 100", 200lb bucks that when weighed and scored were actually 80" and 140lbs.

I have hunted central NY for 31 years, and my heaviest weighed 180 dressed, with several in the 165 to 175 range. We weigh all our deer. 1 1/2 year old bucks generally run 120 lbs dressed or so around here. 2 1/2 are 135 to 140. 3 1/2 tend to be at least 160 dressed. Heaviest I've personally seen was 220 dressed. Just like people, deer weight varies a lot. They are all individuals, and some are just really big or really small. Also, late season deer, especially old bucks, look gaunt after running after does for a month.

100_1662.jpg I have always wanted to know how much the buck I shot on the right weighed. It was by far the biggest deer I have ever shot. For reference, the deer all the way to the right was a 1.5 year old 7 pointer of average size. Any guesses?

that's gotta be a typo, right? You meant 203lbs, right?

I would believe that...I've seen a doe that went over 200 dressed. She was an absolute cow. She was on a buck pole hanging next to a buck that I personally know went 220 freshly dressed, and she looked bigger (was definitely longer) than him.

Confirmed was my first buck 160lbs. Suspected is this years buck, I'd bet it was in the 180-190 range.

A scale is on the list of next seasons "things to get" list.

I also question the 303 dressed out doe, would love to see those pics

No way I would ever believe that without seeing it on a scale. I have seen some absolute monster bucks that would not make 280 field dressed. I have seen some huge does that would not make 180 field dressed. 303 field dressed would put her at what.....close to 375!? Maybe more! hmmmm It would definitely have some freak condition to reach those proportions.

I think I'm gonna have to call total BS on the 303 pound doe. Sorry but if there is no confirmed pictures I will not believe.

Wheres all the canadians replying to this thread lol? Personally my biggest buck dressed out at 233 and doe at 150 (shot her yesterday). But as a group we have had several does dress out over 160 and up to 180, bucks in the 250-260s. Pretty common for mature bucks to go over 200. On the downside you muricans seem to have.more deer with better racks.
P.s. we weigh all our deer.

Did you read the synopsis on it before you posted it? I could take a picture with my miniature pinscer and probably get him to look labrador size.

Also, we're debating a doe weighing that much, bucks are fairly believable but even then it's rare to see

Reminds me of the big hog that made the rounds a few years back.
