I am one who tends to under dress for the cold, I just bought the new Scentlok BE1 reactor plus heated vest and am super excited to use it. My question is does anyone use heated vests and how much does the heated vest help? I have a good pair of bibs but need to invest in a good jacket, preferably SITKA. I always am warm enough to stick out the hunt but rarely am I actually comfortable once it gets below freezing, into the 20s and below.
My dad and I got the Milwaukee vests to wear under our hunting jackets. I wouldn’t say they will heat you up a ton, but they definitely buy you a few extra hours in the woods and keep you from shivering on those cold mornings when the sun starts to come up. I still need a jacket but ended up going with the Scentlok reactor plus heated vest. Excited to try it out this season.
