I'll be driving through this area in a few hours. http://www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/161203775.html
You think they would have skewed down since there were signs lmao Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk 2
From the time the signs were put up to the time of this video the road buckled quite a bit more. It wasn't close to this bad a couple hours earlier.
Got ya. But you have to admit people are in just way to much of a hurry these days and don't really pay attention to a lot of signs anymore Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk 2
That was a pretty awesome jump. Here in IL they put up 'bump' signs where there are hardly any bumps and no signs where there are some vicious bumps.... so I can see why someone wouldn't really slow down enough for a sign like that. I wonder if the WI highway dept. has to pay for the damage to the vehicles?
You (or anybody else here) ever drive down/up IL 47 north of Elburn... where there was that dukes of hazzard railroad crossing/jump/tire and chassis destroyer? The only warning was the gouges in the pavement from frames hitting and the bits of blown tires and broken hubcaps strewn about. They fixed it a few years back but it used to provide entertainment for me. I think I can still jump those railroad tracks right west of RT. 31 in Elgin. I used to get air at those crossings, even at slow speeds with my late 70's IH Scout.... and that's saying something because those old trucks were heavy. (and if your passenger isn't wearing their lap belt, they will smash their head on the ceiling of the truck.... which may be funny, depending on who the passenger is.
I hit that jump on my old bike doing about 95 scared the living ^¥«» out of me Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk 2
I cracked the frame of my 79 Dodge Custom Stabin Cabin on the Elburn 47 crossing, kept it on the road but we got some serious air.
My first thought was flashbacks of when I was younger and dumber, a la "Hey guys, watch this...". Reminds me of a railroad crossing on, I think it was Mayo Rd, in Augusta GA about 15 yrs ago. Wow and Ouch! I feel sorry for the people on two accounts 1) the bumps and bangs they and the vehicle sustained 2) when they have to recount exactly what happened for their insurance agent.
