Trust me.. I'm not really that great of a guy. And who's going around talking about you? Your in the public eye.. in this public forum I stated MY opinion about the show.. if anything I at least gave you the respect by saying it outright instead of to some buddy behind your back. I gave an honest answer.. and hope you accept criticism in the public eye.. which the show is in. Every man who chooses to be in the public eye has too... or they're in for a rude awakening. Like I said.. LOVED the graphics.. the editing.. the feel for the show.. just didn't like you in front of the camera all the time. Don't take it personal (it's not).. I'm sure you're a great guy in person too.. but I expect Terrel Owens to probably be a good dude too. I just don't like his camera time either. Again.. nothing personal. Would like to see more from the other guys.. the Hunsuckers of the world. He's a good dude. You'd have a greater fan in me.. if you did.. and I expect many more.. they just won't say anything.
Ive watched it for 2 years now, its a great show, probably the greatest intro on any hunting show to ever be aired, I will say at first that i didnt like the way it was so choppy, going from hunt to hunt so fast, but i think it was only a 30 minute show at first? maybe not.... Ive never really talked to Jeff so i dont know how he is, but i know Mike is a pretty cool guy and has been doing the forum thing with us all for awhile now. Keep up the good work guys!
This is my first season watching it and I love it as well. I will probably be buying the first season soon.
Thanks Michael for the update, I was curious as to why is was not field dressed when they left it? Or should I say appeared not to be field dressed.
Mike you're a good dude But to be honest; I do not watch the show. I have watch the episode where BloodCrik shoots a turkey 72 times:p Hunting shows are not my cup of teA, but good luck
yeh I mean they hunt some primo stuff... outfitters and all, and Im not a big fan of outfitted hunts for whitetails where you show up pay for a certain size deer and do no scouting or have input, but Im not sure this is what they are hunting, I think they actually do scout and analyze some things for their hunts...Im not saying they work their ass off for em either, but for entertainment and cinematography (sp) it's the best on TV.
Not a huge feat, he was on a farm being sold through Whitetail properties and 2 different peopel putting him on deer. I love the show video and pics are second to none. But in some ways no different than most shows as far as where they are. I still want to see a show where guys are hunting like most of us on public land or without outfitters. I would rather see that than 150"+ bucks hitting the ground every week.
I'll take seeing Dan Infault kill a bruiser on public land any day over that stuff. I have not seen real life hunting that compares on video yet. WKP does a pretty good job, but the shedding and some other stuff gets old hat pretty quick. (to me)
SAY WHAT?? 72 times??? Try twice you tweener :D besides, who else do you know that can take out a Turkeys knee cap, track him down, and finish with a follow up shot? I will pull your ear next time we meet!!!
They do hunt a lot of their own land right here in Missouri. Hunsucker and Shawn live on the farm they hunt a lot. Hell, if I had the opportunity to hunt some of the places they get access to, I'd jump on it too. I can't blame them for hunting the best grounds and deer that they can get ahold of.
Everytime I have watched the show I have enjoyed it, very well done imo compared to a lot of shows. I like seeing Mike hunting since we all get to BS him during the year. Keep up the good work Mike, your living a lot of guys dreams and I am sure it isnt all sugar, like some think.
I do not begrudge them at all either. In order to produce what American hunters want to see, you have to go to the best places you can to get it on film and even then it's not 100% for sure it will happen...with that said, Im with Jeff...I would rather kill a 100-120" deer in my woods on my terms than go to some place I never walked and have a guy drop me off and kill a 150".. Im not saying that is what HB guys are doing all the time, but Im sure they do go to some places where they just go and sit in a stand they didn't hang or whatever...but again, they are also in the business of producing a show that people want to watch and in order to do it, they have to go to the best places they can. I know Hunsucker hunts some farms in MO and works his butt off to kill em...he has nothing to prove to me or anyone.. he's a hell of a hunter. My point still is, I love show and I watch it!
Just my two cents here. As many of you know i had won the Turkey hunt with Heartland bowhunter a couple of years ago. When i got there i was assuming i would most likely be put on a Turkey and end of story. WRONG, we ended up hunting our a$$ off and i loved the fact that that's how it went down. The first few days me and Jeff were out scouting when we werent hunting. Missouri's Turkey hunting is shut down around noon if i remember right. We built blinds, walked for miles, sweated and sweated some more. Meals were skipped, and scouting and hunting came first. Then me Mike Shawn and Skyler did the same the last couple of days. Guys i have seen it, these guys work there butts off for what they do, no cup of Tea i guarantee. One thing i admired about these guys was the respect they have for there land owners. They made it a point to stop in, visit, and shoot the bull with them. They showed me some of there Whitetail properties and talked of all the scouting and shed hunting on them. These guys put in alot of hours on stand and you wouldnt believe the amount of footage that dosent get used. Only the best make the tube for the 30 minutes you get to see of it. I have alot of respect for these guys and what they do. I feel like i made some quality friends during my stay there. And I love the show as well!! I didnt post this in responce to any of your replys, just saying what i know!!
