had one horrible encounter with this buck. it was late october. been in my stand for about three hours and was thinkin about gettin down. thought i saw movement about 200 yds away in a draw, so i decided to wait a bit. i spotted him through my binocs at about 150 yards or so. he was headin my way. took him about 45 mins to get within 30 yards of my stand. he had his head down, browsin for acorns, as i drew on him. he took about three or four steps then stopped again broadside. this is when my release, which i guess i didnt have fastned correctly, slipped off my wrist. obviously threw the arrow way off target. never found the arrow. that was the last time i saw him while hunting. talk about a heartbreaker....

Too bad about the shot but that guy is a bruiser. Hope you get another chance at him someday.
