You got that right. We are praying for a healthy baby. Whether boy or girl, it doesn't matter, they one reason why didn't find out.

Tho I wouldn't mind having a boy first to sick him on the daughters boyfriends haha

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
quiet week leading up to New Years... I hope anyway.
Going to try to get out a few days this week till year end when season ends. Been so warm. Starting to cool off. Wintery mix tonight I believe. May be a good sit before. I had a stud 9point and a nice 8 pt show up at a spot. All nocturnal, but not very far before and after dark. Maybe weather change will bring one in.

The end of the year is not any fun. Grandfather isn't doing well and they thought he needed emergency brain surgery Christmas Eve. They transferred hospitals and that hospital felt it wasn't necessary at this time and sent him home. Definitely something on his brain, but not sure what. But he is now weak on his one side (mimicking a stroke but they say he didn't have one). He follows up today with his cancer doctor. But, with that he can no longer take care of the horses. So I either have to drive an hour morning and night to care for them or move them home. We had a barn that was in bad shape and no fence. Barn is almost totally redone in three days and hoping to get a fence up today/tomorrow. Electric will be rewired Saturday.

And on top of that we had horrible winds Monday night. It caused a pole in our yard to keep arcing. Which eventually caught our cable line on fire. But it had the neutral line surge or something like. Right now we have no furnace (or cable/phone/internet) - have repair men coming today for both. Hope furnace is a cheap fix, though I'm calling my insurance this morning in case it needs replaced.

I'm ready for the new year. Though on Sunday we had seven small bucks in the field across from our house! No time to hunt - but they were there.

Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Sorry to hear about your dad! I hope he gets better. Sounds like the end of the year is the busiest! Good luck with all the work to come!! Seems like everything is piling on at the last second.

I will try to get out to hunt Thursday and Friday. Friday is our last day for this season...can't believe it came so fast!

Sending positive thoughts your way Kristen. Always seems to be everything at once. Keeping your grandfather in out thoughts.
Everything will work out for the best in the end.
Just stinks when it all happens during the holidays.
They just found a friend of mine dead in the woods of an apparent heart attack 2 days before Christmas. At least he died doing what he loved... :(

It's been a trying 2015 here as well with my divorce and loss of my father. Can only get better from here. Keep your chin up and stay positive... What's the old saying... "when life gives you lemons... make lemonade...".... just add vodka ;)

    Good luck with everything...

My season just ended with no deer tonight. I sat one of my better spots to see bucks. It's usually a see the monster spot or see nothing at all.

It was a relaxing and enjoyable sit. Looking forward to the off season. My next season I will have a youngin at home.

We're really cold here. A high of 32 today. It's rare that we get below freezing during the days but this week is different.
Miss Lori and I had your GIRL on Sunday. Jan 17 at 10:05am Lila Noelle Carter came into this world at 8lbs 2oz. I've got two girls now and I couldn't be prouder! We're leaving the hospital today around 12.

Finally able to have time to post, I've been very busy with school and whatnot but I was able to get this buck mid season. My biggest buck to date, could not have been happier.

Shot him Nov. 28th at 9:25AM. I was sitting in a stand in that sits between some hardwoods and a swamp. I figured he was coming back through there to bed and he did exactly what I though he would. 27 yard shot slightly quartering away. He made it about 65 yards up the hill and I heard him crash. Easy track job up through the woods and I was ecstatic when I walked up to him.

Hey bud, you don't have to subtract the difference from your score. You score 139" with that buck rather than 133. Good just again!!
