I got a good buck on camera that I'll be trying to find during late season.

Good job on the doe, they'll fill a freezer!

Good luck chasing the buck. Hopefully he survives firearm season!

    Thanks!

Our firearm season is from October 1st until Jan 1st, when all seasons go out. So for the rest of the season I'll have my bow and rifle

    nice work.. meat is meat.
This is not my season.. finally had a decent buck come in Sat afternoon last light.. came right in to the can call. Could not tell how big as he was in pines... I drew but was backwards in my climber... I settled the pin and when I shot the cam hit the back brace of the summit climber and my arrow flew low left.
    just can't catch a break.
One week left of bow... gonna head out this afternoon, wed afternoon, and possibly Friday am.
    we will see.

on another note, I am stopping at the taxidermist later this am after my morning meetings and dropping off my 8 point from last year. I had a friend of a friend mount it last year... there's my first problem.
Well.... it came back and didn't look so good... like a giraffe! lol... not the biggest buck I have ever shot, but one of my best locally here in Berkshire County. Wasn't a huge deer, but a respectable 3.5 year old with a nice thick rutted neck on him... mount looks like a doe. So, I am dropping it off to have redone. He has a cape for me there... will be a good solid year before I have it back...

Yeah, you definitely pay for what you get with taxidermy work. Though, we had a guy in Virginia do our one IL buck - and it was amazing (he is a world champion taxidermist). The price was cheaper than what we pay at home.

Hopefully you can connect with that buck (or any for that matter) - it seems to be a tough year for many.

It's been a slow year here in Maine, granted I haven't been out much but still I've yet to see any bucks with my own eyes. We have two weeks left after this coming Saturday, so I still have plenty of time. Moving some cameras around at my house, and put out a scent dripper this afternoon over a mock scrape. The bucks are chasing here big time right now! The weather is cold too, highs in the 30's during the day, lows in the teens at night.

I have yet to lay my eyes on a good buck this season... Actually the only buck I have seen is the one I killed. I hoping to get out tomorrow morning and hunt until lunch time. It's supposed to be a full moon tonight with zero cloud cover.

I am a little reluctant to get out really early tomorrow. I never have had good luck with hunting mornings of a full moon. So depending on how I feel tomorrow morning, I may wait until 7am to get in a stand.

Good luck to all that's hunting over Thanksgiving!

    Good luck Chris.

Also to anyone getting out this weekend.

I am going out this weekend to my rifle spot to clear some shooting lanes, make sure my stand is still there, etc. I wont be hunting until next Saturday though. I didn't take opening day off (Monday). Just not interested in it this year. I put all my time into archery season.

Any updates on Joe? He's been pretty quiet after the IL trip.

Sparrow, I saw that you posted your score...thanks!

Good luck to everyone this weekend... Happy Thanksgiving!
I will be going out this afternoon. My buddy sent me the pic this am... 7:30 this morning this buck was 2 houses down from the property I have been hunting... about 200 yards or so from my stand. I'll be in there this afternoon.

I hope he hangs around... I may try to sneak out tomorrow am, but probably not again until Friday am ... unless I kill him tonight ;)

As my saying goes, meat is meat. That's why we hunt...to fill freezers! Nice work.

Well, today is first day of PA gun. First week this year is buck only. Second week is either or. I didn't go out. I'm planning on making it out Saturday.

Congrats Western! I noticed in the score card you didn't add the time of kill, you'll have to update that to get the points entered.

No more deer for me so far, had a deer come in at last light Saturday evening but it never gave me a shot and I couldn't tell what it was.. I'll be back at it a few more times this week. Our season ends a week from this coming Saturday.

I added the time of kill to my deer on the official score card.
