Going to be leaving work here in about another hour. Hoping to see something. We have been having off/on luck. Husband had a fourwheeler practically go under his tree last night (ugh) and only saw one deer all day. It was a cool morning when I left for work, so we'll see how it goes. I wont be hunting deer in the morning, I have my allergies acting up or something starting that every morning the past couple day I cannot stop coughing once I wake up. Starts right around bed time and just continues. So, unless I feel great (and can keep quiet) in the morning, I'm going to pass and go duck hunting instead. I feel pretty crappy today. Hoping it's not the start of something bigger.
That sucks! My wife and I both have been battling a chest cold for the past few weeks. Monday night on the stand I was fighting the cough trying to cover it with s fawn bleat! And YES I'm excited for the trip!! Bouncing off the walls!!! 7 days and a wake up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just shot a doe that was 3 steps from picking me. Shot was slightly quartering 2 me but looked ok maybe a lil back. Gonna sit it out and wait a couple hours before jump down. Who knows big boy may step out

Missed a small buck (he was a six or eight, I saw three high and stopped looking at horns). He ducked and turned. Wasnt my ideal dream shot, but it was going to work. He then walked broadside ten yards in front of me, I knocked my second arrow (he's not spooked at all, even though now I'm shaking), draw back...and my husband walks in to the picture and the buck runs off before I could shoot. It was a clean miss, a non spooked buck, and ended with me laughing at my husband for ruining it (he's so mad at himself for leaving before dark). Back at it tonight wind is right to sit in the corner where I have pics of a good 8 and that monster. Unfortunately the tree I'm in wont facilitate a stand but at 10 ft there might as well be one here lol a rub line has developed along the trail in front of me so I went ahead and made a mock scrape to see if it be of my boys will stop by for a daylight visit
Nice job Thwack.. took my girlfriend on Sat afternoon... got in and had some action at the end of the afternoon... buck chasing does all over ridge above us. She did not feel comfortable with the situation in the stand and the set up, so I shot this big doe that was about to bust us... very spooky... shot her and she only went about 70 yards and I watched her tip. had the girlfriend do the tracking and tried to teach her.. she did good! I'll enter her in now.
Had some nice bucks show up on cams... 1 really nice 8 in one spot... another nice 8 by this area's standards and a half rack (4 on side) and some other bucks this week. I hope to catch up to this guy... cam only been there a week... he's been there twice... both at night... but it's a start... I've shot a couple of nice bucks in this spot over the years.
