Thwack, a day time pic of a buck like that is awesome. I'm sure he'll be around more often! I love the length to the tines.

Ugh. They're calling for wet snow Saturday. I hate the cold - but add in wet snow and it'll be miserable!

We were going to go up to NY and hunt at a friends place prior to their pig roast, but with this crappy forecast I don't know!

I hate it. I live in the snow belt, so we're usually #1 or #2 for highest snow fall every year. But, snow usually doesnt fly til last couple weeks. Yeah, it makes for easier tracking, spotting, etc...but give me 40s-50s lol.

    Good luck for the opener!

I think i'm going to be able to hunt the morning and afternoon hunt on Saturday! The wife doesn't do mornings so we're planning a hunt for me and her in the blind in the afternoon. Saturday morning should be a cold and crisp morning, i'm thinking of hunting our creek bottom.

Going to do some family fall photos Sunday AM as well.
I will check my MA cams Sat AM and make sure everything is ready for Monday AM. I took Monday off.

Well, cold snap is here, looks like rain has finally gone off the radar. It'd be a perfect night sit if I didn't have things to do (dang it).

I'll go out tomorrow after work, then possibly Saturday morning before heading to NY. Husband will have a week or two off of work so I'll be going most evenings for awhile. Hoping they cut the corn up in our spot!

Good luck for season opener, Western! Family comes first and seems your daughter is a busy gal!

Nice work Chris!!! Looks like a lot of meat! Should really start heating up here pretty soon in my area. I have been crazy busy so between that and finding the time to hunt Ihaven't had much time to get on here. I plan on getting more involved in the conversation now that prime time is right around the corner!! Have a few decent bucks showing up just after dark in some feeding areas, biggest pry pushing 120. With this nice cold front coming in maybe I can catch one slipping up during daylight hours. I am hoping maybe a few more mature deer will start traveling a little further when the pre rut kicks in. We have a ton of standing corn around us right now and that should be coming down soon.

Also...... smoked a nice doe last night on film!! Was hunting a food plot on the edge of standing corn. I passed this same exact doe last Sunday night. It was early in the evening and I was hoping a buck might show up at last light. When she made the same mistake of giving me another opportunity I wasn't passing it up again. The shot was a little far back, ended up being a straight center punch through the liver. Blood trail wasn't great and she only went about 100yds, but it took a little longer then your average 100yd tracking job. I need to hug that shoulder tighter!! Been a habit of mine, it's not that I am making a bad shot, I just am picking the wrong spot. Chalk up 50pts for Team 3.

Congrats are in order to Chris and Sparrow!! Excellent job guys!!

I went out this past Saturday afternoon and passed up a doe at 13 yards. It was sweet film, just couldn't do it.. She was 80/90lbs. and all alone. She will be good bait come November!!

A little over 3 weeks and I'll be in Illinois, and I can't wait! I'll be hunting around here next week as I'll be on the night shift again. Got a cold front and possible snow coming Saturday into Sunday, I'd love to be in a stand but I'll be up north bird hunting.

Husband is out in a new spot while I sit here at work. Friend owns the area - said that a ton of does keep coming through. He's going to see how it goes (he's after a buck) and if they do come through I'll sit there tomorrow morning!

Sparrow - your entry looks great - 50 more for us!

Hey guys, I've been absent but I am headed back home to chase big bucks this weekend! I don't know what happened but our property blew up this year. I'd say we have 12-15 bucks that are 2.5 years old or more! Hopefully a 3.5 walks by! Corn was picked lasted wee and to my knowledge has not been plowed, temps are dropping and the winds are perfect!

    Nice work Sparrow.!

IT'S ON.! I'll be in a tree for the first time this weekend.. gonna try to take advantage of this cold front in WI.
I can't tell you how excited I am to get my whitetail season started -this is the latest I'd ever waited
to get into the woods, so to say I'm itching would be an understatement.

Good Luck to everybody hitting the whitetail woods.!
