Thanks...I did go out Saturday but the weather wasn't nice for a hunt! I was bummed thinking I ruined it last night, but replaying in my mind I really don't think I did any fast movement. He was just a smart mature whitetail.

My husband is on his way to NC for work for the next nine days. If it doesn't rain Friday evening I will go out - otherwise Saturday. But, I'll be sitting in a different stand. Wish one of my close to home properties I got permission on had better sign (or heck, my own property) - I'd be going out after work more often!

My property hasn't been showing the usual sign either this year. I usually have at least 3 decent bucks on camera, but this year only a glimpse of a dink 6. I do have the usual amount of does, so I'm hoping the rut will bring in some of the boys! I started a few mock scrapes last week, but with all the rain I don't know if they had a chance to take yet or not. less than a month to go till my Illinois trip! first 130" or higher buck comes through is getting my arrow, I don't care if it's hour one of day one!!!

I have a 3 day weekend this upcoming weekend, so I should get plenty of tree time. Thanks Christopher Columbus

my cams only show small bucks this year. Nothing exciting... but begger's can't be choosers... looks like it will be a meat season. Ordinarily, any legal buck is a good buck in this area, so if it's a 1.5 year old "dink", that's what will get it!!! :)
My trip to NY is where I will get my crack at a mature buck this year unless something crazy happens locally. I have shot some nice bucks on this trip... heading out November 3.

I am not looking for a monster. It'll be my first archery deer. So I'll take anything legal and take it with pride.

I'll be heading out this weekend for a sit or two. Depending how it goes (or if the corn is starting to be cut) - will determine my next week.

How close are you to Augusta? That's where the camp is located and I have a 25 minute drive to the farm I hunt.

hoping to get out Friday pm... but they are calling for rain... if not, I won't be out until Sunday am. Crazy at work and with kids sports schedules.
I need to prune a stand sunday or Monday for mass and hang a stand in another spot sunday or Monday.

Finally made it out in PA last night. Did manage to see a buck feeding below me but he walked away with no shot opportunities. Not feeling really good about the season as every day a new car shows up on the property and it's getting hunted hard. Need to adjust my plans but with limited opportunities, I don't have much time to get in and set up a new stand (need to buy a new one after my ladder got stolen last year). For now I'm limited to a double ladder I have in there and my climber but the climber doesn't give me a lot of places to hunt on this property because of how thick it is.

Well guys I'm back from Vermont. The wedding went all to plan!! It was a great day, the weather turned out great as well, and we can't be happier!

I will say I am eager as hell to get in the woods though! Looking like a wash out for this coming afternoon though, so I'll be taking the pup out to try and kill some ducks.

Congrats on the doe Austin! I was getting lonely on the scoreboard!

By this time next month, I'll be out in Illinois bowhunting and I can't wait. Austin it actually looks like I hunt not too far from you. Randolph and Perry county...

Here's a few pics from the wedding. And yes the last two pics are "serious faces!"

Good to hear it was a great time!!!! Got a good laugh at the first pic!!! Wishing you guys a lifetime of happiness! My advice is never stop trying and make sure you guys have a real date night twice a month, have fun with each other!

We're supposed to get some rain today too, so me and the wife are going to go get her a harness tonight and do an afternoon sit tomorrow.

Congrats HuntMaine! Now that's one helluva wedding party!!!! great pics.

I hope to get out this afternoon, but 90% chance of rain... we'll see how hard it's coming down around 3pm and go from there...
Finally get a free afternoon and weather doesn't cooperate..... ugh...

Beautiful (and large!) wedding party. Congratulations! Lovely pictures! Wish you and your wife all the best!

It's raining this morning. But, will be out and sunny by this evening. Low of 54*. Came to work early, so I'll be leaving for an evening sit. Not sure what to expect, I am going to my stand that I sat last year. This is the stand I had all them small bucks in July that disappeared (and my goofy small 13ish point). I still have a camera out there, so I'm going to take my viewer and check it in the stand. I made plans for when I get out of the woods - hoping that means I'll get something and have to cancel them ;)

Congrats Eric! Great looking wedding! Love the old chevy too! Good luck in the woods this week.

Well guys I had no luck last night. Didn't see anything. I thought I was in a pretty good set up to at least see one sneaking through. Oh well! This weekend is the weekend i'm headed to the coast to fish. It's supposed to be 50% chance of rain on both Saturday and Sunday so i'm not sure which day we'll go yet. If we go Sunday, i'll do a morning hunt on Saturday! (i'm kinda hoping to go Sunday :D). Good luck to all in the woods!

Update....we're going Sunday...so Saturday morning here I come!
