    Happy Birthday!

So far, nothing. Squirrel n chipmunks. Rain is moving in so I'll be down shortly.

    Good luck all.

The weather is finally clearing up down south. Yalls will soon to follow. We still have 40% chance on Monday and Tuesday, but I haven't hunted during the week yet, hoping to when the pre-rut picks up.

The wife and I just got back to the house from helping move her parents all day. Started at 10 and just got done. That was a long move with just me and her dad moving the furniture. Haha thankful to be all done with that! We're fixing to head out to eat to celebrate their new house. Sounds like steak is for dinner!! That has my mouth watering, thinking of deer steak.

Since PA doesn't have Sunday hunting we scouted another new piece of land. It is approximately 50 acres...and the deer sign wasn't there. Ugh. It was a close to home spot which is what I need for the work week. But, it did have a pond loaded with ducks - so that's where I'll be in a couple weeks!

Going out this afternoon after work. I came in early, so I'll be out at 3 - make it home change and be in the tree by 4/430. It is still very early in the game, but our deer sign is just not there like it normally is. My camera only had a handful of pictures when we checked it Saturday. It's very weird. This is the same area that we turkey hunt every year and kill 2 - yet this spring not one bird. Really make us wonder what is going on.

ETA; I've never hunted a spot where I've always had deer going through. Last year I only saw 2 within' bow range and about five in a field. So "slow" is normal but our sign is always better.

I had a big mature deer about 20 yards away. Right on the opposite side of some smaller trees. He knew something wasn't right and was on alert. I spun a little and he took off. Not spooked, just knew something was off. He stopped behind a tree in front of my husband then casually walked off. He will be back. But, I'm going to hunt a different stand for this weekend and go back there end of next week when my husband gets back in town. Close, just no luck.
