Here are a couple pics of Lindsey and her bear. She shot it with a 7mm-08. She does have a bow, but not confident enough with it yet.

And one of my ugly mug with her

I pulled a card over the holiday weekend from a property I love to hunt. Problem is this year the landowner gave 3 other people permission to hunt it. Oh well, it's been good to me for 10+ years. I'll make the most of my limited time and get in there when I can.
Last year I had a camera in the same spot and the only other hunters allowed on the property but a hang-on stand right beside the apple tree in the open, about 10' off the ground. And they can't understand why they didn't get anything from it. Doh. anyway, I put a camera up and I had ~1600 pictures in 2 weeks under that apple tree. Here are a few of the better ones. I've also got several buck fights, and coyotes as well as Coyotes and deer in the same pictures.

Thought this was a great photo

Thanks Western MA Hunter. Hoping to get in there early and get a chance. Looks my son has an off weekend from hockey the opening Saturday of Bow season so I might be able to sneak in there.

Awesome deer for PA. I love the nontypicals. Best of luck. Seems you may have a lucky spot despite others being given permission.

Nice... My daughter has hockey evals this Sunday and Monday. Moving up from Squirts to PeeWee's. gonna have to juggle that around her soccer schedule and my other daughter's softball... and still find time to hunt! lol
CT opens next Tues. I hope to get out in AM. Can't in PM as my younger has a game. Older has soccer practice. I coach softball... my girlfriend coaches soccer... never a dull moment.

Took both girls last pm bear hunting... no luck... checked cam and had 5 different bears overnight... one absolute slob!
maybe GF will connect Friday pm or Sat am...
    Then it's on to deer.

Finally put a camera out for deer two evenings ago, and had a doe on it yesterday morning. The cam is about 30 yards off the back lawn of my house I just built and moved into! So that is a good sign!

The season opens here on Saturday, I plan on going out for a couple hours in the morning to a stand over some apple trees. The afternoon sit will be for bear!

yeah my hunting season revolves around Hockey. He plays AAA so we are on the road a lot. I'll be in Stamford, CT in 2 weeks, then Detroit, Toronto, Columbus and Cleveland all from now until the 21st of November. That coupled with a demanding job and a wife and daughter who need time too, I'll be sneaking in and out for hunts when I can.

    Good luck to your daughter.

Thanks Pops.. and good luck to your son.
It's been a crazy year for us.. got divorced in the beginning of '15... then lost my father a few months later... been a big adjustment. Between the year round sports and the hectic 50/50 shared custody schedule things seem to get a bit crazy. I try to bring my girls hunting as much as possible. It's tough w/ the bow. Generally only from ground blind.
My 11 year old shot her first turkey when she was 8. She shot her first deer this past season w/ my muzzleloader. My younger one doesn't shoot as much.. she's a bit more reserved... lol She has been w/ me for some turkeys and deer though.

Shot this doe w/ my daughter Grace last year off the ground w/ the bow.

Took this nice tom w/ her one year too in NY... great hunt... got to see one heck of a show and she sat like a statue.

It's raining today. Supposed to spotty severe weather all day long. I'm still going to try and sit the afternoon but might need to get a tree umbrella before I go
