    I thought I had my rut stands already picked out...until the neighbors logged the 20 acres of pine next to my clearcut/food plot.

    I'm still getting a lot of pictures there but we'll see how the bucks feel with no cover.

    Oh that sucks Chris....

    My stand hanging turned into a 3 hour ordeal. Had everything set, then saw somthing moving below me... I was surrounded by does!!! Lasted over 2 hours.
    I'm in a white oak grove right near the only water source around.

    Well guys I'm back again HAHA!!

    I've been super busy, with one week of bear season in the books, closed last Monday on the house I just built, working shift work, and also preparing for my wedding which is now less than a month away (Oct. 3rd)... I've been busy to say the least!

    I did manage to get out a few times bear hunting last week, and saw two small bears. My fiance shot her first ever bear last Wednesday, a 180lb male. She was super excited! I'll upload a few pics shortly.

    Deer season starts this Saturday. I'll be hitting my stand for an hour or two when I get out of work in the morning.
    I also did purchase my Illinois combo tags last week too!!!

    I would say you have a lot on your plate this year! Congrats to your fiancé on her first bear - I'm sure that was a rush!

    congrats to your fiancé HuntMaine.
    I took my girlfriend out for her 1st bowhunt this AM. We had a small bear come in and unfortunately, she missed... now she is really down and disappointed... I told her I was proud of her anyone for doing so well on the ground with a black bear and her first shot ta a live animal. She'll get the next one.. hopefully tonight!

    Looks like I have missed out on a lot of conversation! I've been really busy. Did some early season goose hunting, that was a riot. Still haven't checked my cameras, but plan on doing that this week! Opener is right around the corner, and the cooler weather looks to be rolling in, lets just hope it stays!! Here is a shot of some early season goose hunting! I have never let cameras go so long without checking them, I hope I have some shooters on em and not full cards!!
