So next year is my new set up year hopefully. I've been doing a little looking and am riding the fence on getting an hha optimizer lite to try out. Anyone had any exp with a single pin set up hunting wise. I've always been a multi pin shooter but when I hunt I find myself never using more than 2 pins anyway.

Checked the cams today. Nothing worth posting. Lots of does tho! Can't wait to shoot some does to fill the freezer!

Thwack. I've used a single pin before. I switched back to a multi-pin. I didn't like the added step of adjusting the pin to the right yardage.

I shot single pin for years. I never used the slider, for reasons that Chris said. I just had it set at 20 yards, and if a deer was at 30 I'd put the pin up near the top of his back

Won't be checking my cams until the 2nd week of Septemeber. They will have been out for about 2 months at that time. Really just trying to stay the heck out of there until season, keep the pressure down. Hopefully have some shooters hanging around!!

Smart idea! I'll be doing the same on this soak. Won't touch it until season.

I'm going to check my one camera today, and also take a look around the same area for a potential natural ground blind. might as well make a few now so I can hop in the late season. I'd love the idea to be in a pop up ground blind for comfort but I don't see how I could enjoy myself in one.

I agree with you. I have a couple ground blind and use them when it rains or is too cold/windy. But I really dislike it from the standpoint of not being able to see. I like a treestand so much better because I can look all around, which a ground blind makes you have tunnel vision.

Hawk, mine will be checked this week. Been out two months (just about) the anticipation is killing me - but I'm hoping for good things. Put a new stand up, then, too.

Got another area close to home to hunt. Of course, we are attached to our current place, even 40 minutes away, because its proven itself every year. So we may look into it for next year.

Got to put us back on top!!!

Saw a doe walkin in my back clearing this morning. I've always had them coming through in the afternoon, cool to see them coming through at all times now.
Wasn't able to get out to check the cam today, had to go get my 14 year old son some back to school clothes. Only this kid would want/wear these to school:

Pulled cards on 4 cameras Saturday night and have nothing to show for it. One camera was off and one had the batteries not fully locked in place so it never turned on. The other two had pics but one Sd card was corrupted. Not a good pull.

As bad as this sounds, so glad I am not the only one who has bad luck with cameras! We always have horrible luck. My husband has a bad temper - so when we put them out this last time one went sailing through the trees because I couldn't get it to read on the card. I have the SD card protected problem all the time. Frustrating to say the least.

Sorry I've been MIA... Was on vacation in Maine Thurs - Sunday.
Name works for me. Did a little striper fishing on Friday am before we got hit w/ a monster storm. I took my 11 year old daughter and her friend. My daughter had been once before out deep... she got a couple of big ones that time... this time just some schoolies, but it was her friends first striper and they had a blast... a few pix...

last year was an unbeatable year for me... I have never had a season like last year's.... I generally hope for a shot on one mature buck each year... last year I was lucky enough to get 3...

Looks like the kiddos had fun! Very cool for them! I was in Maine about 2 weeks ago, where about were you? I was in York. Though, did no fishing. I just cannot do boats!

Those are some awesome bucks! Just one of those would be great this year ;)

Must be the popular spot! We stayed about five minutes from the beaches. I flew in on the 14th. Went to shortsand beach and saw a nice bear track. Didn't go in the water though, way too cold! We drove up to Cabelas, down to Bass Pro, couple trips to the Kittery, a local Hoyt dealer bow shop, lol....not for a person who doesn't like crowds, but was nice to see! Saw an awesome looking ropes course, but didn't have the ambition to try it!
