I’ve never been bowfishing in my life but my son in law talked me into trying it.

It’s 8:04 and we’re headed to the lake.

I guess I’ll find out what all the fuss is about.

Never done it, but one thing I've seen mentioned time after time.

    Aim low!

Yeah, I sort of knew that but it was more difficult than I thought.

It was a blast. I scored on my first shot and did pretty well overall for a first timer.

It’s definitely something I would do again.

Dead fish don't grow bigger. Plus, they can't be caught again, depriving someone else the fun of catch & release.

I don’t know anyone who fishes for Asian Carp or wants them to grow bigger.

Common carp is a different critter. 95% of my fishing for the last 8 years is for common carp. The term for Asian carp includes black carp, bighead carp, silver carp (they are the jumpers) and grass carp. Grass carp are a blast on rod & reel. Wrote an article on Asian carp a while back including other invasives as zebra mussels. Silver carp were confirmed in Lake Chickamauga this year. An angler turned on his trolling motor and had fish jumping all around him. So far, studies have not shown them except for this isolated area. Sadly, trying to eliminate Asian carp is like trying to nail a piece of Jello to the wall. Even stopping the spread might not be successful.
