Good luck PT. If he's actually gut shot and not just zipped, I'd say they will find him....he should be dead by tomorrow with a gut shot.

Deer Search will be out at 9 am today ... I developed a fever and a bad cough, so I couldnt hunt or assist in the recovery ... they will get the deer ... no doubt in my mind ...

Tony, give us some insight into where this deer was found in relation to where it was hit. Did it circle, lay down close by, go to water, etc. Always looking to learn something..

Heres the deal, guys.... he went 258 yards from the impact ... not too bad ... he walked straight back, angling slightly to the left, then he took a hard right curl ...probably heading towards the creek ... the trackers guessed he liveved 7-8 hours, but because we backed out with very little sign, they said we did the right thing.....

some of his hind quarter was eaten by fox, but the rest of the meat seems
fine ..... Thanks to all that cared :)

Oh yeah, without those dogs to follow the interdigital smell of that specific buck, there was 0 sign ...we would have never found it ..

    Awesome, Tony!!

I know exactly how you feel, as do most of us, who are passionate about recovering what we shoot.
