Work called off for tomorrow, so I am gonna go attempt to brave the cold and see if my patience pays off. I have heard the best bet for cold weather hunts is 10am-2pm but figured I would ask.

Also with weather this cold should I even bother bring any calls/scents? I know its a little late in the season but i always carry everything in my bag just in case?

    Any thoughts?

Ill be out tomorrow in these negative temps here in illinois ive never used any scents this late but i have used grunts and calls so i would bring calls i dont blind call in the cold only if i see a buck that isnt coming close enough ill throw out a grunt or snort at him as for times this late and cold im not sure i hunt all day they seem to be moving all day with this much snow and these cold temps and there hearding back up we watched 7 does tonight feeding on grass strip.

Accuweather is calling for -25 tomorrow morning so I figured they wouldnt be moving much. I know the deer arn't staying on the property Im hunting so I was hoping to catch them when they would come to feed on the clover plots and acorns. Was told in these cold temperatures they won't move much til mid day.

In cold like this i go out around 9 am and hunt till dark unless i kill one which usually happens but right now in this cold deer have moved off hard foods like corn and acorns and they start eating softer heavy foods like grasses , clovers , moss , stuff like that if youve ever killed one in cold look when you cut it down every one i kill always is loaded with grasses but i hunt all day they seem to eat all day around here right now ill be out over a grass strip tommrow its all alfalfa grass they seem to be on it all day.

They should in cold like this deer have to eat to live there slaves to there stomachs what i like best about this much snow is you can see there tracks snd travel patterns find the paths that are used the most and sit on them thats what im doing tomorrow going to take out some does and try out my new barnett crossbow.
