What do you guys use/recommend? Seems like by the end of duck season I am trying to tape a mini maglite flashlight to my hat because every head lamp I've own is garbage and can't take 3 1/2 months of duck hunting.

I've been looking at this one for this year. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&cp=13&gs_id=1l&xhr=t&q=pelican+headlamp&qe=cGxlbGljYW4gaGVhZA&qesig=pYjuTIRREatY5rHqVyEEHw&pkc=AFgZ2tkYlC5DyErzy33DeDxg7NXCLxTDMWHJMFPBg37DqwC4gxyN2SAGzpL66jP24jYUHb30aPpuIxOr_rYyPuy5GDvzgj2npw&biw=1333&bih=665&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=9077589952098578204&sa=X&ei=gtkfTt39GazSiALRmJGhAw&sqi=2&ved=0CH8Q8gIwBA

have any of you used this one?

i had a small petzl headlamp that survived two deployments to iraq. had some decent light output when i needed it. some of the newer models look to be a bit better than the one i had

I've been super happy with my Browning Nitro...

Though, now that I mention it, I'm not sure where it is

bit the bullet on what i thought was a "big" purchase about 7 or 8 years ago with the Petzl, one of the BEST all around purchases i've EVER made!

I have been using the Black Diamond Zenix for several years now with no problems. I have put this headlamp through hell and it still works great. I have never duck hunted before so Im not sure about what type light you are looking for.

No problems with my Petzl, I think you would be happy with one.

I use a Petzl...very light and you don't even know it's there...which is why I have a habit of losing them when I take off my hat. :D

I have a Princeton Tec. But, I need to replace the headband because I can't find it. I've sent an email to the company to see if I can buy a replacement.

I’ve got some cheapo energizer headlamps I picked up at wal-mart and they have lasted extremely well. Deer, ducks, turkey, fishing, frog giggin...

My buddy bought the pelican headlamp that I showed in the link above.

hands down the brightest headlamp I've seen. also comes with a lifetime warranty not sure how good the warranty is though. This headlamp made it easy to see a 1/4 mile away. I've never had that kind of results out of any flashlight, let alone a headlamp. I believe that you could safely drive a car down the road with 3 or 4 of these headlamps mounted on your bumper.

I'll be picking up the pelican headlamp soon. I would recommend that you guys try it as your next one too.

Have you bought this headlamp yet? I like the looks of it and you really can't beat the warranty. Don't see myself trying to sneak into stand with this sucker but it would be great for tracking purposes.

No, I haven't bought it yet. It is big and heavy compared to most, not sure if that poses a problem for deer hunters but it won't be a problem in the duck blind. I will be purchasing this one soon.

ask me questions if you have any as like stated above, my buddy bought one last week

I went with a PrincetonTec this time... 70 lumen, 2 brightness settings and a red filter. Can't be beat, and way brighter than my Petzl at 35 lumen
