    Well, almost :)

Went out for my first hunt of the year yesterday for a dawn to dusk hunt. Bucks are really moving.

Saw 10 deer total, two button bucks, a 1.5yr 7 point, one doe and the rest all mature bucks, one a real whopper.

Only shot opportunities I had were one of the button bucks and the 7 pt. As the button was coming in, I was planning to shoot if it was a doe, but when he stopped broadside at 20 yds I could see his little bumps on his forehead.

At the end of the night, I picked out a small leaf on the ground where both he and the 7pt were standing, drew back and let fly. Dead on vertically and 2" right. I'm counting it as a catch and release kill :)

Headed back out tomorrow to sit in a stand everyone one of the bigger bucks walked by at the other end of the field. Things are heating up for sure :)

    Salad... :)

Had another good hunt last Friday. Doe came in to my buck decoy at first light, she was alone, so figured that was a good sign and maybe she was hot and something would follow so I passed on her. She paced back and forth at 20 yards about 5 yards from my decoy for close to 10 minutes before simply walking off. Nothing came after her.

All in all I saw 15 deer including 2 shooters, one a real pig. They were both on missions and wouldn't look my way no matter how much I grunted, rattled or snort/wheezed. Both on the same trail in heavy stuff behind me.

Before I got down I took a shot at a leaf where the doe was standing in the morning. Harvested more salad :)
