On Saturday my oldest son, 16 got his first bow kill. This is his 3rd year and after a few misses, one lost deer and lots of sits without seeing a deer, he put a great shot on nice little doe. He made a 15 yard shot and she died within 20 yards. Very proud of his dedication and determination! Tonight he shot clean under a doe and was let down, but he is popping right back up in the morning and going again!
That's awesome. Please tell him welcome to the brotherhood. He will now have a hole in which to dump all his money and energy. In Venatione Veritas
Awesome! Congrats to him and I'm sure you were one proud pops. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Awesome! Glad he stuck with his bow and got it done! Quite the accomplishment! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Nice! Seems like it sunk its hooks in if he’s pushing through his mistakes. Must be in his heart. Good deal
It truly is, he just can't get enough! It has been 3 long bow seasons without taking a deer, missed shots and losing one. He took this doe on Federal Land the first sit. He videoed the whole thing on his Tactacam Stabilizer and the deer even dropped in sight. His reaction and emotions were so raw and sincere, it will forever be etched in his memory and mine.
Congrats, Buddy. I'm waiting for my grandson (16 years old) to take his 1st bow deer. He's got 2 gun deer but I'm proud that he is being picky about his deer. We have "rules" but the 1st deer isn't covered. Just remember that if the best out there miss 2 out of 3 times.
I've missed 3x this year which is unusual for me but I was able to take this guy and luckily he only traveled 40yds because he didn't drop a lot of blood
