Amen brother! Plus usually if I'm feeling like a nap it's because things have been really slow anyways but I try to stay awake although this year I did sleep for 2 and a half hours straight haha but that's because I was in a box blind with truck seats in it and in Texas it's pretty warm til late season
Avoid eating, especially sweets and bakery goods. Such foods increase your serotonin production. Serotonin is the neurotransmitter which causes most people to naturally fall asleep at night (http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5179940_serotonin-affect-sleep_.html). When it is important for you to be alert, eat foods that do not cause a high rise in blood sugar, such as vegetable salads, nuts, seeds, fish or chicken. I was once told ninjas would fast before a mission. By doing so, they became more aware and alert to their surrounds. They believed a man with a full stomach had an empty mind. I think there's something to this. I like the naps....
ditto. Im pretty wired when I'm hunting. Everything gets my attention. Plus I put too much time and energy into the season to let THE chance walk under me while I'm dreaming about Anna Kournicova
