He's not the President, he's just a business man making money. What are you guys a bunch of liberal socialist? The guy does not have a right to earn a buck? Is this not how captialism works?

    Was it illegal?
Is he not paying taxes on this deal?
Are they going to use this TV station to build green eco bombs of terror?

I think having the Arabs watch an Inconvenient Truth is pretty good punishment.

The rumor is he sold it to al jazeera for less than glen beck had offered him. If this is true then the whole businessman excuse goes out the window. I also read that after the sale time warner cable dropped the channel.

He sold? He owns a 20% of the company, so my guess is 80% made the choice.

It sounds better when stuff gets made up, carry on

All the head lines say that Al hore announced the sale, so it is safe to say he sold it, and it says he is staying on the board. He also praised al jazeera in the articles I read. Don't let facts get in your way though.

On a lighter note, can not wait for the first news cast with Baghdad Bob, he was a funny bastard.

That's not the point, point is there are 80% more ownership, but that does not get brought up.

Who cares if he agreed or not, it's called capitalism

You obviously cared if he agreed or not, you tried saying It was made up, which it was not.

I remember when Newt Gingrich was going to get paid for a book deal and A LOT of liberals complained. I am all for capitalism but come on this is ridiculus!

Al-Jazeera is owned by the Country of Qatar. Qatar has been an ally of the United States for years and in fact we use Qatar as a central military staging ground in the middle east. Qatar also assisted us militarily in our war against Iraq and has allowed other Democratic, Western Countries to use their soil.

I don't see what the "problem" is other than a lot of people worrying about what influence an Arab owned tv station will do to America.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend... If I was a small as Qatar with as much natural resources as they have, I may want the biggest, baddest military on my soild as well, espercially when I'm surrounded by countries with a knack for invading neighbors for said resources.

Russia was an Alli during WW2, and we all know how that ended.

Capitalism is fine, but he had better offers before, but did not sell it because of the buyer being conservative, they did not want the station tainted. But selling to an arab station that, like it or not has negative opinion of our country and shows anti american propoganda is another story.
