    electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than visible light but shorter than radio waves.

    Just a guess?

    The reason I asked Is most other IR camera's gather light with a bunch of tiny red lights flashing that gather the light.

    The lights on the Scoutguard are Red, But when you film them they showed up green. I really dont' know why that happened. Your guess is as good as mine.
