I'm starting to worry about my deer herd and my property. I have 400 acres, 220 of it in timber and the other 180 in CRP. This was the first week I was able to hunt my property.

Just for starters my property borders a back highway on the south and planting fields on the north. Only enterance is on the NW Corner, South along Highway and a back enterance on the East. I notice today someone has been snooping around my property. Fresh tire tracks through my CPR grass. Over the last 9 days I having great issues with getting the deer to come out of the heart of my timber before sunset. i don't have any fences or gates on this property. I spoke with a DNR officer 3 days ago and they told me they been having reports of midnight poaching around my area. I'm haven't found any dead bucks or gut piles yet, then again I haven't been looking very hard. I'm wondering the people snooping around my property has caused my deer herd to become more nocturnal. Everything I seen the past 3 days has been very skittish. I live over 1 hour from my property. Any solutions of catching the people trespassing? Second how big of an effect does driving into the fields at night have on the deer?

I would invest in some trail cams, hang them high up in a tree, 20' or so, pointing towards that ground. This way, you can get some pics of deer and or tresspassers, yet your cams should be safe from thieves! Good Luck, I hate tresspassers!!!
