The law states it needs to be on your back on your outer most clothing (jacket, shirt etc). It then legally can be covered by tree stands or backpacks. Clipping it on your backpack is against the law.

Not that I know of. My friends use "bait" sometimes and I hate it when I hunt with them because if they get busted then I'll get in trouble for just hunting near it but not over it.

Oh, one other thing I've done (not accidental), I walked onto someone else's property (not posted) to retrieve my deer. It was barely onto his property but I could see it from my property and I wasn't about to waste time asking to get it. I just pulled it to my property to field dress. I wouldn't care if someone came to my property to get their deer so I just made the call. I doubt he would have cared anyway, but against the law nonetheless.

I lost a back tag when rifle hunting in PA about 15 years ago from sitting up against a tree. I went back and couldn't find it but I had to go get a replacement which was extremely annoying. Could be totally avoided if it weren't for having to display it like that - so stupid.

I shot a hen once several years ago, late season and foliage was tall. I watched the birds cross an opening and the gobbler was leading. They were pretty much in single file and proceded through some brush(only 10 yds or so). When the lead bird whom I assumed was still the gobbler cleared the thicket I shot. They were in grass tall enough that you could only see their heads. It was a hen. I filled out my tag and called myself in. The warden laughed, said he appreciated my honesty, and to enjoy the fried turkey.

The guy has now become a pretty great resource for me in many ways... all because I screwed up and did the right thing. Weird way to earn a guys respect lol but hey :) other than that No, I do my best to fly straight. I value my hunting privileges far too much.

but crossguns are allowed electronic scopes. not sure if Colorado has crossguns or not. used to be in pa we weren't allowed anything electronic on our bows but the dang crossguns can. pees me off.

well in pa I'm sure the wardens can find something eveytime I or anyone else hits the woods. I almost got busted for not having two forms of identification on me in second archery season. ridiculous. I am not about to lose my ID in the woods, i'll pay the ticket.

Thing about game laws in KY is there are plenty, but enforcement is a joke.

Upon further review I willingly and will continue to not follow the legal procedure when it comes to tagging deer. Minnesota says you have to apply the tag at the recovery site. I get the buck back to the garage gut it and call it in, then leave the tag with the deer in the garage to age, I don't put the tag on the deer until I transport it to process it. Keep in mind the deer is taken on private property (my own). I once got scolded for applying the tag with a fastener that could be opened, kinda dumb because I could cut a zip tie too.

When you hunt Private property in NC, you are always suppose to have a written notice from the landowner on you whenever you are hunting. I hunted quite a few times without it. I now make it a point to keep it in my backpack.

When my oldest daughter was 6 (shes 18 now), I took her to the local pond to do some Sunny fishing. We were using her brand new Zebco "Snoopy" fishing rod and reel. I casted into the pond and as I handed her the pole, DEC was tapping me on the shoulder asking me for my fishing licence. At the time, I didnt have it yet(no excuse) and since the officer seen me cast the rod, he gave me the fine!! I was in shock, but I broke the law!! BTW, we didnt catch a fish, I just left after getting the fine!!

Not really a 'game law' but many moons ago I liver shot a doe and before she dropped a buck came and chased her into the adjacent woodlot.

I had permission to hunt the field I was in but not that woodlot. I asked the farmer who owned the land around the woodlot if they thought I could go in there to get my deer. They said it was an absentee land owner that they never saw... So they said I should just go in there. As far as they knew, no one hunted it.

So I went back early the next morning and followed the blood trail a short distance and it went right under a lone wolf stand and set of climbing sticks. Dang. Somebody was hunting in there and they must be fairly serious about it. I turned around and headed back to my truck.

Right as I am walking out of the woodlot, here comes a big, decked out Ford king ranch truck. I walk toward the Ford to apologize for possibly messing up his hunt. Inside was a well-groomed and spiffily dressed hunter. His name... Todd Graf. Lol

    Yea accidentally, thats it ha.

I've forgotten tags, foid card, and license in truck before. Went out bowhunting without wearing orange every time was supposed to. Also have went on neighbors to look for deer. All happened on private property and have known neighbors basically whole life so they probably wouldn't care but takes more time to make a phone call or go over then it would to retrieve deer. They got told afterwards though.
