Operating room that is. This Mon the 30th I will be having a total knee replacement. Was supposed to have it done last spring but I want to get as much as I could out of it. I tore up my other knee this year dragging my deer out thru the flooded woods so I have an MRI scheduled tomorrow but I already know the results of that. Another knee replacement as it too is bone on bone. So, surgery on Mon, PT starts Tues with a 3 day stay in the hospital and possibly the other knee done in the spring. It's been a miserable year in the deer woods but next year I should feel like a spring chicken again.

Good luck with that Rick. I had hip replacement done almost 2 years ago now. Best thing I ever did, won't hesitate if the other one goes out. I put up with the first one for 5+ years. Good as new now.

Good luck with that Rick. The hard part will be talking yourself into the other knee replacement after just recovering from the first!

Off to the hospital in a few minutes. The biggest thing about this is NO COFFEE  or anything for that matter since midnight last night. Have to be at the hospital at 8:30 for a 12:30 scheduled surgery, makes sense doesn't it? So that means it will be sometime around 4:00 or so before I get back to my room. First thing I will want is a cup of coffee.

Best of luck. The physical therapy is the key to success with that operation. I know several people that have had it done and all of them wish they had done it sooner. Hope you have the same experience.

good luck! im not far behind ya, makes me smile the day i can wake up and not have to sit at the edge of the bed and psych myself up for those first few steps. when you get home make sure you grab a few xtra comforters and bunch them up all around your leg to elevate... if you just do the pillow method you might as well say goodbye to any sleep or sleep in the lazyboy. keep icing and try to flex your quad as much as possible or pain will allow. oh yeah say goodbye to the toilet for a few days too, pain meds will keep you stopped up quite a bit for the first week =-(

Well it's probably too late for him to back out now. Probably went under the knife early bird special.

I know how much Rick hates drugs.... but I figure right now he's asking for something to make the pain go away. Speedy recovery bud. Let us know when you can.
