Who cuts their own slit in the back of the jacket and what do you use to do it? My coat doesn't have one and I am thinking aboutdoing it myself.
    Thanks!

I've been doing it for years. Get a knife and go to town!

Can't remember what it is called or the price, and truthfully doubt it's worth it. But there is a plastic/rubber implement out there for this, looks similar to a piece for a cars seat belt. Think it screws together and pinches the material between it, then cut the material out. I imagine the only benefit it might have is to help control fraying and elongating the cut(this might rip at an inopportune time).

I cut a slit where I wanted it, and then had my mother in law sew around it. It has held up great for 6 or 7 years.

I have never done this but I see a few jackets out there that have this slit. I am not about to slice up a 300 dollar Gray Wolf Woolens jacket. It works fine coming out the top for me.

Have to say I fully agree, There just isn't a good enough reason to cut up a perfectly good coat. Now if it was an old one and needed an excuse to buy a new one well.....

Honestly, I have no problems just leaving it come out the collar in any of my hunting jackets.
