I was looking for some advice on a comfortable safety harness. Last year I used a Gorilla model. The problem was the leg straps worked loose when I walked/climbed and where so snug once I sat down that Im sure I wont ever sire a son.

Long story short. What safety harness do you use and why?

Gttting to be some great harnesses out there. I've have and used the HSS for the last three years and will continue to use it again this year. Really like the Muddy System as well, but no need to buy a new one when the one I have works great and is comfortable.

All harnesses will do what you are saying if they have leg straps, just saying. I know mine does as well as others I have tried. I still like my Gorilla G30 the best! second best is the spider harness I just didn't like the bright yellow.

Glad to see you have finally wised up.

They will come with a treestrap or rope to attach to the tree. Yes you can use it in any tree or all of your stands. I purchased a few extra tree straps so I can just put them up with my stands and leave them.

Great advice. I do the same either with tree straps or I take it one step further and use a lifeline which ensures I am connected from the time my feet leave the ground.

The lifeline is a great idea. That is on my shopping list before the season.

I use the HSS Treestalker. Picked it up last season and it's made me 100% more comfortable in a stand. Some say that it's pretty bulky but I wasn't bothered by it at all. I also wear it on the outside of my jacket cuz I like the pockets it has. IMO I can't believe I waited this long to actually wear a harness.

This year I'll be getting the linemans rope with the prusic knot.

Another vote for the HSS Ultra-Lite! I got mine yesterday and hung a couple stands with it. Man is it nice. Very adjustable, comfy, and well built.

I also got 2 Life Lines for my two stands I leave up. Very slick set-up :tu:

I myself am scared of heights, its one of the reasons i waited so long to get into bowhunting. Because of this I've used a harness from day one. I did almost take a spill last year. I climbed down to the bottom of the tree and went to plant my leg what I thought was solid ground. Instead it was pinestraw covering a small groundcovering bush down in a hole. I had about two more feet to go. Luckily I had been taking yoga so I didn't snap my leg or pull a hammy.

I bought the tree spider speed harness. I love how sleek it is. I wrapped a piece of elastic around the straps in the lower back area to keep the leg loops from catching on my big thighs when I stand up after squatting. A simple solution to a common problem with full body harnesses.
