Hard horned in illinois

went out this evening for a little drive every buck i saw was hard horned no velvet left in my parts. come on october first there are a few bruisers on my hit list this season. i hope they stick around for my partner and i to attempt to harvest.

 

I got one picture of a young buck without velvet this past weekend. Everything else I had on my cameras were still carrying theirs though.

And I agree....October 1st can't come soon enough.

 

Here in WV most have dropped the velvet, but there are still a few hanging on to the velvet.

 

I just chcekd my cameras and all the bucks had velvet, but were starting to rub it off( ie. bloody racks) in small spots. Full velvet for the most part though.

 

Same here. Well, I havn't seen the majority of the bucks, since I've done really no scouting, except for today.

Went out spotlighting last night and saw 3 hard-horned, one being a pretty decent 7 point that we passed last season. Went in and hung a stand for my brother and actually saw the deer...Hope he gets him...

Haven't had a chance to see any lately with bein back at school but I'm going home this weekend and hope to get a little time in the field to see whats out there for us.
