Been looking for a hard camper cover for my Chevy Colorado with a 5" bed for awhile now and cant really find any information online. The ARE and LEER series look nice, but also seem pricey from what ive heard (Cant find online prices ANYWHERE), can anybody point me in the right direction?

I got my cap from the LEER factory outlet in Milton Pa. They had the best prices by far that I could find and I called a lot of places. I'm not sure what they would charge for shipping though. Give them a call, (866) 694-8697.

Craigslist is where I got mine for a great deal. I have an Silverado with a 8ft bed and found one that matches the color perfect! I was going to spend a bit extra to get it painted if I found one to fit but not the same color!

They are pricey but I love my ARE. I added an after market lock on the tailgate which locks it all up secure. Yup, pricey. I can sleep in it because of the screened side vents and avoid bugs while camping out.

Since my bed is only 5 foot, i dont need all the fancy windows, vents, and all that jazz. I just need a black hard shell to keep all my gear/bags/jumpkits dry.

My bed is only 5 foot 6. Dodge Dakota.l I sleep corner to corner. LOL Yes it's tight... but it beats the ground with all the pads I have. It's my camping house for our annual spring turkey/golf outing.

Something to think about.... try to get one of the caps that is elevated at the back. I know you've seen them. The ones that are the same height as you truck cab are really too low to load much of any size in them. An extra 10 inches or whatever they are is worth it.

Any cap period is old mannish lol.

I refuse to convert to the truck cap crowd until I am 30 (regardless their convenience).
