If you feel that this is purely a woman's rights issue, I would agree. But, the men commenting feel its a right to life issue and are speaking for those that don't have a voice, the unborn child.
I posted the links and pictures so hopefully people will read them and get a true feeling that these are living humans inside a woman. (Hopefully you will take the time to look at them)That woman, imo, has no "right" to end that life, especially when that life in most instances, started with decisions she made. Rough subject, awesome it's been kept civil minus a bonehead comment or two. Some great points by both sides. Im 90% pro life. I feel that if it's for health or rape reasons it should be allowed. Why should the rape victim have her innocent life ruined and have to constantly reminded of being raped? It should be the victims and only the victims decision. No one else should have a say in that situation. No lie, this has been my twentieth attempt at posting. Everytim I type find a logical argument to my response. Even against my 10% example I just posted. Tough subject. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Abortions due to rape only make up 1% of all abortions. Not 10%. That equates to about 16,000(give or take) a year and that is about half of the rape victims that get pregnant. Most regret aborting and claim in only added to their suffering. http://www.angelfire.com/nj3/rebekah8370/ Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
According to statistics I've seen, yes, most. I'm sure there are counter statistics which there always seem to be. I was looking for the website I read that from but can't seem to find it at the moment. Kinda hard to searchbthe web and keep my machine running. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Wouldn't that be impossible to answer? Sure, there are a few but I wouldn't think it would be a large percentage. Im sure there are a few as well that claim that is the reason for an abortion when it really isn't as well. We can just go by the actual numbers. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Excuse me for not being accurate with percentages. Regardless of what those women said and regret it should be and IS there decision. Thats my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I meant nothing by it, just wanted the facts out there and not conjecture. (Like with my "most" comment) that's why I tried to find the web site but my link did site a book. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Here's a quote from my link .Many people believe that women who are victims of rape and become pregnant by this violent act is a good reason for them to have an abortion. In Victims and Victors (Acorn Books, 2000), a book written by David Reardon, Amy Sobie, and Julie Makimma, 192 women were interviewed. These women had had abortions after they became pregnant from rape. Nearly all the women said that they regretted the abortion, and over 90% said they would discourage other rape victims from choosing abortion. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Numbers can be skewed by any body. I guess I don't care if it is 1% or 100% if a woman was raped and does not want to carry the baby to term no one here should have any say on it. That is the only thing I believe to be black and white.
Me too, her biological grandparents should be ashamed. Question for her, did your mother and her parents ever get back together after this tragedy.? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
I understand that argument but on the flip side, its half her dna as well. The baby is still a living human that shouldn't be punished for what someone else did and "most" rape victims claim it only added to their suffering. But if it means stopping the other 99%, I'll concede, on this small percentage. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
It is her DNA. But if she had no choice in the act of her pregnancy, no woman should be forced to carry a child for 9 months.
