Well this past weekend was a bust, hunted four days and only saw one shooter that got my heart pumping. Some canadians leasing property to my North ended up driving their quads around all day in the woods so that ruined the end of my bow season before gun started. Opening day of gun season the same Canadians were doing deer drives in the farmers crp fields to our north all day.....hopefully the snow this weekend changes things.
That sucks No.6hunter, I went out yesterday afternoon and didn't see a thing. Our gun opener is this weekend and I'm hoping all the gun hunters push the deer to my little piece of property since I don't gun hunt. Suppose to get some cold weather and snow this weekend so it should be good. I'll do some pheasant hunting this weekend for sure!
Wanted to get out tonight since we have 5" of snow coming but will not be able to due to work, has anyone ever had luck actually during a snow front? Im hoping it doesnt keep them bedded down..
My deer season is pretty much over. All my property's I can deer hunt I only have bow only permission except 1. Father said there has been about 8000 people there all week since Monday which was the start of rifle season. I won't even bother thanksgiving morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well you did put down a doe tho so your season has been better than mine dogfish. I'm going out thanksgiving morning and possibly Friday morning hopefully drop something, I really don't want to eat tag soup this year but we shall see.
Well, finally got one. My first buck ever. Too bad it was in last weeks firearm season not this past weeks now season. This week is firearm again, but after that it's back to bow until January.
I am going to try and make it out this weekend. Hoping 3 weeks of rest on the property gets the deer up and moving this weekend.

I was in the stand a lot up to our gun season. Typically after gun season I m done hunting. Mostly because my 2 kids sports seasons ramp up. I'm thinking of putting every minute I can in now that this guy showed up twice in the past week, but after dark. Last set of picks was about an hour after dark. From what I can tell thru all my pics, he's about 14 points. I never get a full rack pic tho. Only seen a deer like this while in the stand once in my life. He was 5 yards behind me and I thought I was going to fall out of the tree I was shaking so bad. I was in a cheap Menards climber that squeaked and was afraid to turn around. This was about 8 years ago. I have since beefed up my stand arsenal.
That is a monster Kenny, I hope you atleast get to see him while in the stand!! I don't know if I could take my eyes off the rack long enough to put an arrow in him.
