Someone just told me I should hang my bow, that having it lay down for any length of time is bad for it. I hadn't ever heard this before. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this

    or was it this guy?

I should probably add that the best thing you can do for your bow is keeping it away from sunlight, moisture and sudden temperature changes.

Yes much better to hang it up....just dont hang it upside down. If its and Elite and you hang it upside down then after two days you have to send it to me to be disposed of as it already ruined.

It makes no difference if you hang it up or leave it laying down. Just try to make sure you store it in a cool, dry place. Excessive heat, cold and moisture can do bad things to a bow.

i am going to be building a display cabinet in the next few months for mine and my wifes bows. They will be hanging in it. I do have to say it makes more sense to hang them as I would think they would be more pronged to damage by something falling on them laying flat somewhere.

As has been said, protecting your bow from moisture, heat and direct sunlight as well as from being struck by anything or dropped, those are the priorities.

I currently keep mine in its case. If I had the room in my house, I would hang it. It would be to make it easier to pick it up off the hook to shoot instead of taking it out of the case.....no other reason.

I have always just kept mine in my hard case. Like I said, I had never heard this before and just wondered if anyone else had. I think I'll just continue to keep mine in the hard case. Thanks for all your input guys :)

I hang mine, because it stays out of the way. Keeping it in a case would worry me from a moisture standpoint.

That's a pretty sweet display case. Looks good and seems pretty handy. I may have to consider something like that myself. Thanks for the idea :)

The one thing I think you may want to avoid is leaning a bow in its cam, like in a corner or against a wall for any period of time. As well as teh heat and moisture etc. as teh other guys mentioned. jmho.

I'm going to (attempt) make a hanger with some of my smaller antlers. I just need to do a little research on how to mount the antlers with out spliting them. From my earlier days (prior to BH.com) I would shot smaller bucks if the season's end was near, but now I know the chances of them growing into wall hangers. Some of these antlers are so small that I am embarrassed to hang them, however, they each have a great memory attached to them. I've retired my "BuckMaster 2000" this year, but I would like to honor the old bow by desplaying it with some of its vitims.

    Hi!

That is a great idea, to keep your guns in a safe, so I decided to purchase a gun safe.
But the problem is, I don't know much about safes. What brand do you have? Would you recommend it?
People talk a lot of crap all around, but I found a few comparison websites, one of them has a listing of the best gun safes and points out the pros and cons of them. Now I have an idea on what to look for but I would like to hear a personal opinion.

    Thank you.
